The Light Guys started with a wish — to see all of Bakersfield glow at Christmas. Founder Brendan Collins began stringing lights for his neighbors in 2008, and we've been spreading that holiday cheer one rooftop at a time ever since. No franchise, no call center — just local people who love Christmas lights a little too much.

Our story

It started with a family tradition.

Growing up, founder Brendan Collins hung Christmas lights with his family every holiday season — a tradition that brought everyone together and lit up the whole block for neighbors and passers-by alike.

As the years went by, Brendan started dreaming of seeing his whole hometown glow like that. So in 2008 he began stringing lights for a few neighbors — then for homes all across Bakersfield. Nearly two decades later, that same wish still drives every install: bring a little time-tested holiday cheer to your home, your street and your business. Nothing would make us happier.

Brendan's first season

2010s

Word spreads across town

One block becomes many. We move to fully leased, commercial-grade lights so every display looks brand new and nobody stores a thing.
